Steps To Follow To Deactivate Your Threads Account

Threads, the latest social media platform from Meta, has been unveiled by its CEO, Mark Zuckerberg. Developed by the Instagram team, this micro-blogging platform primarily focuses on sharing text updates and participating in public discussions.

You can join Threads by signing in with your Instagram account. Messages can be up to 500 characters long and contain links, photos and videos up to 5 minutes long. Unfortunately, if you’ve tried Threads and want to delete your account, you can’t do so without also deleting the Instagram account you signed into Threads with.

According to the Instagram Help Center’s Threads privacy policy, “You can deactivate your Threads profile at any time, but your Threads profile can only be deleted by deleting your Instagram account.”

If you are not ready to delete your Instagram account, an alternative option is to deactivate your Threads account.

Here are the step-by-step instructions on how to deactivate your Threads account.

– First, open the Threads app.

– Now tap on your profile icon in the lower right corner.

– Tap the menu icon in the upper right corner. (It looks like two horizontal lines, the lower line being shorter.)

– Then tap on Account and now click on Delete Profile option

– Tap Delete Threads Profile and confirm your choice.

After completing these steps, your thread account will be disabled.

In related news, Threads is said to be developing additional options. These upcoming features include an edit button, next feed, and a translation option for different languages. Threads users will soon be able to edit their posts for free. Additionally, the following feed presents posts from accounts that users choose to follow.

Additionally, Instagram head Adam Mosseri confirmed that the team is developing a translation option to support different languages. While the current version of the app only allows account search, an upcoming update will allow users to search for specific messages. The company is also working on Threads’ web interface, but according to Mosser, mobile applications are the priority.
